Hide/Lock the HARD DRIVEs in My Computer without using any software

Do you wish to keep a drive of your own which no one can see no matter who log in to your PC and thats offcourse without using any software...Here is a solution for your problem. You can Hide/Lock(whatever you wish to say) any drive in my computer to maintain your privacy by simply following the steps

1. From Start menu click on "Run" and then type "Diskpart"
A command prompt should appear and from STEP 2 type eveything in this command prompt

2. Type--> list volume
A List of Drives displays

3. Then Type-->select volume 0, 1, 2, 3 (whichever you want) OR you can also type in with Drive Letter such as C:, D:, E:, F:

4. Now Type-->remove letter C, D, E, F (whichever you want but only one at a time)

Press enter, hence the drive is removed

If you want the Drive back in MY COMPUTER

In 4th Step Just Type--> assign letter (the name of the letter you have hidden/locked or whichever you want from A-Z)

If after removing (i.e. after STEP 4) you exit the command prompt and later want the Drive back ....

Repeat the procedure till STEP 2 now you can see that the Drive which you had removed is not visible in the list...

SO now you need to select it by the number or name...

Now type-->select volume and drive name or no. such as 0, 1, 2, 3 or C, D, E, F
This will select the desired volume.

Now Just Type -->Assign And you will get back your Drive in My COMPUTER..

See! your problem is solved just like that.

Enjoy....

BUT PLEASE DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK.
